This is a fine little movie in which about 25 champagne growers participate. We recognize most immediately, because they are also in our book: ‘Champagne – The Future Uncorked’.
And it is no coincidence that many of them are portrayed extensively in our book.
This is because they are a bunch of ‘Terroirists’, wine growers who carry the terroir in their heart, and have the terroir as a guideline of their philosophy. Terroir is also one of the core ideas in our book – we outline the developments regarding single vineyard champagnes and describe and assess many of these champagnes.
Compared to the enormous amount of champagne consumed annually, it is a niche market, but of the highest quality.
The men and women in the video are members of Terres et Vins de Champagne.
A cheerful and fun club, as the images show.
But it is more. Through this network, experiences and ideas are shared, each other’s champagnes are tasted critically, and one learns from the other. This so that their champagnes get even better. At Terres et Vins de Champagne we recognize the Bérèche brothers, Benoît Lahaye, David Léclapart, Pascal Agrapart, Benoît and Mélanie Tarlant, Dominique Moreau, Pascal Doquet, Delphine and Francis Boulard, Vincent Laval, Françoise Bedel, Emmanuel Brochet, Fabrice Pouillon and many other.
There are a few other such clubs, to which equally likeable and good champagne growers are connected. Les Mains du Terroir has among others Jérôme Coessens, Erick de Sousa and Eric Rodez as members. And another group includes Aurélien Lurquin, Thomas Barbichon and Sebastien Mouzon. Agnès Corbon, Flavien Nowack and Thimothée Stroebel, have the beautiful name Des Pieds et des Vins.
